Terms of Use

Agreement

These Terms of Use (Terms) are a contract between you and Daniel James Edwards for the Rotblock iOS app (the App). They supplement Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple’s Standard EULA). If these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA conflict on a point Apple requires, Apple’s Standard EULA controls for that point.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store and Apple’s Standard EULA.

We and our licensors keep all rights in the App. You do not acquire ownership of the App or any of its content by using it.

How the App works

Rotblock lets you put distracting apps in a timed timeout using Apple Screen Time and Family Controls. Usage is shown as “today’s top apps.” Blocks expire when the timer ends.

The App needs Screen Time permission on the iPhone where you use it. We do not guarantee that blocks will apply or remain in place if you revoke that permission, if iOS restricts Screen Time features, or if you use a different device that has not been authorized.

The App is a self-control tool. It is not medical advice, therapy, or a substitute for parental-control or device-management tools provided by Apple or a caregiver.

Rotblock Premium (auto-renewable subscription)

Adding or selecting apps to block requires Rotblock Premium, an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple In-App Purchase.

Rotblock Premium

  • Length: 1 month
  • Price: the localized monthly price shown in the App via StoreKit, charged to your Apple ID at confirmation
  • Free trial: an optional 3-day free trial may be offered. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You manage and cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or in App Store account settings.
  • Product ID: com.launchkit.rotblock.premium.monthly

We never see your card number. Apple processes the payment.

Restore Purchases

Restore Purchases is available in the App. It restores an active Rotblock Premium subscription associated with the same Apple ID on that device. Restoration is handled by Apple.

Refunds

We do not issue refunds. Refunds, if any, are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. You can request a refund through your Apple ID or App Store account.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • copy, modify, or reverse engineer the App, except where the law does not allow us to prohibit that
  • use the App to violate anyone else’s rights or applicable law
  • attempt to bypass Screen Time, StoreKit, or other Apple restrictions

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided as it is and as available. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not promise that blocks will always work, that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your self-control, focus, or parental-supervision goals.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or device issues arising from your use of the App or from a block that did or did not apply.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for Rotblock Premium in the three months before the claim, or if you paid nothing, to zero.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including any mandatory consumer rights where you live.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Queensland, Australia will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.

We do not operate a user database for the App. These Terms apply to your use of the software on your device, not to an online account.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
