Rotblock Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Rotblock iOS app (“the App”), published by Daniel James Edwards. The App helps users place distracting apps in a timed timeout using Apple Screen Time and Family Controls.

We do not operate user accounts, a cloud backend or a user database for the App.

Information we process

Screen Time information, selected-app identities, app tokens and block lists remain on your iPhone. We do not upload this information to our servers.

Rotblock uses Firebase Analytics and Meta App Events to understand App usage, improve the App and measure advertising performance.

These services may process:

  • App launches and sessions
  • Onboarding completion
  • Paywall views
  • Timer duration and the number of apps selected, but not their identities
  • Unblock-flow and breathing-exercise interactions
  • Subscription, trial and purchase events
  • Purchased product identifiers
  • App version, device type and operating-system information
  • IP address and pseudonymous device or app identifiers
  • Advertising-attribution information

We do not:

  • Create user accounts, sign-ins or passwords
  • Upload Screen Time history, selected-app identities or block lists
  • Collect precise location, contacts, photos or camera data
  • Show third-party advertising inside the App
  • Sell personal information
  • Request permission to access Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)
  • Offer third-party login

If you email us, we receive the email address and message you provide. We use this information to respond to your enquiry.

Analytics and advertising measurement

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand App usage and feature interactions.

We use Meta App Events to measure App installations, subscriptions, purchases and advertising campaign performance.

Google and Meta may process information according to their respective privacy policies. We do not provide either service with Screen Time history, selected-app identities or block lists.

On-device Screen Time and blocked-app data

The App requests Screen Time and Family Controls authorisation. After permission is granted, the App can display usage information and apply timed shields to apps you select.

App tokens and block lists are stored on your iPhone so Rotblock’s Screen Time extensions can apply and remove shields.

This information remains on your device. We do not upload Screen Time history, selected-app identities, app tokens or block lists to our servers, Firebase or Meta.

You can revoke Screen Time permission through iOS Settings. If permission is revoked, the App cannot apply or maintain blocks.

Purchases and Apple

Payments are processed through Apple In-App Purchase using StoreKit. We do not receive your card number or complete payment details.

Apple processes purchases, receipts, Apple ID information and subscription status under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

Purchase, trial and subscription events may be reported to Firebase Analytics and Meta App Events for analytics and advertising measurement.

Children and teens

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect direct personal information from children.

Firebase Analytics and Meta App Events may automatically process pseudonymous device, usage and purchase-event information as described above.

International processing

We do not operate our own cloud backend or user database. However, Google, Meta, Apple and our email provider may process information on servers outside Australia.

Screen Time history, selected-app identities and block lists are not transferred to these providers.

Your rights and data deletion

We do not operate user accounts or a user database. Therefore, we cannot remotely access, export or delete Screen Time information or block-list data stored on your iPhone.

You can:

  • Delete the App to remove its on-device data
  • Revoke Screen Time and Family Controls permission through iOS Settings
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings
  • Request a refund through Apple
  • Contact us regarding personal information contained in correspondence you sent us

To submit a data-deletion request, email dan@launch-kit.co with the subject “Rotblock Data Deletion Request.”

We will delete identifiable information we control where reasonably possible and process applicable requests relating to our analytics providers. Because Rotblock does not use accounts, some pseudonymous analytics data may not be identifiable as belonging to a particular person.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date.
